Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The White House will announce a new military aid program for Ukraine on Friday.

The White House will announce on Friday the transfer of a new military aid program to Ukraine, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Thursday.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Kirby did not give the exact cost of the new package, which he said would include ammunition for artillery systems already in Ukraine’s possession, including HIMARS. . More details will be released soon, Kirby said.
Reuters reported on Wednesday that the United States was holding consultations with its closest allies on the possibility of imposing sanctions on China if Beijing backed Russia to wage war on Ukraine.
Kirby was asked if potential sanctions against China would be a topic of conversation between President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who will visit the White House tomorrow.
“Of course, it is expected that in the context of talking about what is happening in Ukraine, there may be a question of third-party support,” Kirby replied, referring to alleged support from Beijing.
