Putin broke the deal with the elite

March 6, 2023

The tacit agreement reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the elites at the very beginning of the 2000s is definitely broken.
Economist Mikhail Khazin spoke about this, reports IA DEITA.RU with reference to the expert’s Telegram channel.
According to him, during his message to the Federal Assembly, the Russian leader clarified that “the old method will no longer be”. This means that the old agreement with the elites is no more. As the expert explained, old agreements are replaced by new ones.
According to the previous agreement, the oligarchs and other representatives of the elite were not to interfere in the political life of the state under any pretext. For this, they were given the opportunity to indulge in their personal enrichment and even to withdraw funds abroad.

Now it’s forbidden. Today, all representatives of Russian society, including the oligarchs, must consolidate against a common enemy in the form of the collective West, and Putin, as Khazin noted, actually said so directly during his recent message.

At this stage, as the expert said, the president is ready to offer the elite to renegotiate the agreement. Its main topic should be the possibility for representatives of the ruling elite to receive bonuses for direct participation in the development of Russia.
