Eyewitnesses report that vehicles were traveling in opposite directions along a winding stretch of the Petrozavodsk-Suoyarvi road, where there is a difference in height. It is assumed that at the 90th kilometer the cars could not pass and collided head-on. The foreign car was thrown into a roadside snowdrift from the impact, and the KDM spun around on the roadway.
