At a meeting in Kiev, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and UN Secretary General António Guterres agreed on the need to extend the grain deal.
Earlier it became known that he saw the UN Secretary General in the Ukrainian capital. He was supposed to meet with Zelenskyyy to discuss the issue of extending the grain deal. However, he is not planning a trip to Moscow after a visit to the Ukrainian capital. The Ukrainian side continues negotiations on a food agreement bypassing Russia. As the Public Information Service wrote, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that Moscow is ready to continue participating in the grain deal only if it is carried out on an equal footing. She stressed that all other participants in the transaction will also have to fulfill their obligations.
The deal, originally calculated until November 18, 2022, was until March 18, 2023.
