Emma Heming Willis, wife of actor Bruce Willis, has asked paparazzi photographers to stop being aggressive towards her husband.
She shared a video over the weekend on Instagram where she said there was a need to raise awareness about dementia and the effects it has on those who suffer from it as well as their families.
She recounted an incident where photographers tried to reach her husband when they kissed in public, which they rarely do. They were going to meet friends over a cup of coffee. Emma says getting Bruce out of the house and keeping him safe is difficult and stressful.
“This post is for photographers and videographers trying to get those ‘exclusive’ pics of my husband on the go. Stay away. I know it’s your job, but please keep a certain distance.
She said party videographers would yell at her husband to freeze his films and demand that he respond to how he felt.
“Give him his space. May the family, or whoever is with him that day, get him from point A to point B safely.”
She also directed a question to other relatives of people with dementia, if they had any advice or suggestions that might make it easier for her to take care of her husband.
It was last year when there were reports that Bruce Willis suffered from aphasia. It has recently been stated that aphasia has now progressed to dementia in the frontal brain.
There is no cure for the disease and Emma said she hopes media attention to Bruce disease could be aimed at raising awareness of the disease, which needs further research.
Emma’s post likely dates back to an incident that took place recently in California where photos were taken of Bruce walking with his friends, but the photos were heavily criticized.
