Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said the Ukrainian side expects China to use its influence with Russia to end the conflict.
“We expect Beijing to use its influence on Moscow to force it to stop its war of aggression against Ukraine,” Ukrayinska Pravda quoted him as saying.
Nikolenko also added that Kiev is closely following Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Russia.
Earlier it became known that Xi Jinping had arrived in Russia for a state visit. This is the first overseas visit by a Chinese leader since his re-election. It is specified that Dmitry Chernyshenko, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, came to meet him.
