Kremlin says Putin and Xi Jinping did not discuss Ukraine peace plan

October 4, 2025

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping did not discuss Ukraine’s peace plan, but exchanged views on the Chinese initiative.

“The Ukrainian peace plan was not discussed, there was an exchange of views on the provisions contained in the Chinese peace plan. President Putin himself spoke about it,” Peskov told reporters.

The day before, Vladimir Putin had declared that the peace plan proposed by China could constitute the basis of the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. However, according to the president, the West and Kiev must be ready for this.
