October 4, 2025

A ship carrying Russian-made fertilizers has been detained in the Finnish port of Kotka. This was reported by broadcasting company YLE.

The Finnish Foreign Ministry’s sanctions department clarified that part of the shipment is believed to be linked to a Russian individual on the EU sanctions list.

The agency is now considering an application for an exclusive export permit for the delayed fertilizers.

Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that Russia is ready to develop the export of fertilizers, and is also ready to work with all partners in this field.

It also became known that the income of the Russian Federation from the export of fertilizers for 2022 increased by 70%.
