The Palestinian Presidency warns of the danger of the continued Israeli escalation in the occupied territories

March 22, 2023

Today, the Palestinian Presidency warned of the danger of the continuous Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people, represented by the imposition of punitive measures on prisoners, the continuation of raids into cities and towns, and the continuation of settlement, pointing out that these practices will all lead to an explosion of the situation in a way that no one will be able to control.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the official spokesman for the presidency, said in statements that this systematic Israeli escalation will have serious repercussions, stressing the need for immediate intervention by the international community to stop these ongoing crimes against the prisoners before it is too late.

He pointed out that the extremist Israeli government is trying, through this deliberate escalation, to thwart all international efforts aimed at stopping tension and de-escalation, and the occupation evading implementation of its obligations to the signed agreements, especially stopping unilateral measures that violate all international legitimacy resolutions.

It is noteworthy that the occupation forces, since the rise of the right-wing government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, have continued their dangerous escalation against the Palestinians in various regions of the occupied territories, which resulted in dozens of martyrs and hundreds of wounded, and the arrest of hundreds, including children, women, and freed prisoners.
