Medvedev explained why Russia lags behind in drone production

Russia

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev answered a question about the production of drones in Russia. The politician explained why there is a backlog in this industry and when the Russian Federation will be able to create competitive devices.

“Something goes faster, something slower. No country would be ahead of the others in all respects. Thank God we have parity, if not superiority in the field of strategic nuclear forces,” Medvedev said.

The politician pointed out that foreign drones are not perfect. According to him, Turkey’s Bayraktar “turned out to be average, actually.” At the same time, today Russia has already established the production of reconnaissance drones and vagrancy ammunition (kamikaze drones).

  • Vagabond ammunition “Cube”, “Lancet”, some others that are made in Kalashnikov show excellent quality. We are told: “It’s something Iranian”. These are absolutely Russian ammunition with high accuracy and a relatively low charge,” the deputy head of the Security Council said.

Medvedev added that developers are now faced with the task of creating strike drones. In fact, they are full-fledged aircraft. The politician expressed confidence that the launch of the devices “on the wing” will take place in the coming months.

“I exaggerate their importance until I don’t. The current battle is really a high precision battle, but it is not yet feasible without the human factor. The battle is on the ground, but with the use of all these things. So I’m sure we will have a full range of drones in the near future,” the Telegram channel “You were listening to Mayak” quotes the politician.
