Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Medvedev advised Kiev to think about the consequences of using depleted uranium shells

The Ukrainian authorities should carefully consider their level of preparedness for the use of depleted uranium munitions on the territory of the country. This advice to Kiev was voiced by the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, noting that this type of weaponry is a Pandora’s box.

According to him, to date, the final provisions on the risk of using this type of weapon have not yet been formed. However, Ukraine can assess them on the example of the use of depleted uranium in Yugoslavia.

“Do they (the Ukrainians) want such weapons to be used? They are the ones who open Pandora’s box. They do it, and not the other way around (…) The Serbs themselves, the former Yugoslavs, speak of a significant increase in cancers, ”said Medvedev, answering questions from Russian journalists and network users social VKontakte.

In addition, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation speculated on the consequences of a real clash between the largest armies in the world. He is convinced that there will be no winners in such a confrontation.
