Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed that he had sent an official proposal to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. According to the Ukrainian president, he did it through diplomatic channels.
Earlier, Zelenskyy said he had not received an offer from China to mediate in the conflict with Russia. Moreover, the President of Ukraine did not receive an initiative to meet President Jinping.
“But I sent direct messages through diplomatic channels that I wanted to speak with Chinese leader Xi Jinping,” Zelenskyy said.
However, he expressed doubts that the Chinese peace plan would help resolve the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. He stressed that respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country must come first.
