Actress and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow has been teased and mocked on social media lately after comments she made in a courtroom recently went viral online.
Gwyneth was giving evidence in court on Friday in a case brought against her by a pensioner over a skiing accident in 2016. However, Gwyneth claimed it was the old man who caused the accident and not her.
On Friday, the actress reported that she first thought the man was going to sexually assault her when he jostled her on the ski slope.
She heard a strange noise behind her and she subsequently froze and got angry when pensioner Terry Sanderson approached her from behind and pushed his skis between her legs.
“I was skiing and two skis came between my skis and pushed my legs apart. Then another body pressed against me.”
Sanderson’s attorney questioned why Paltrow thought it was a sexual assault. Paltrow replied that she heard strange moans and felt her body and was trying to make sense of the situation. It was his first thought at that moment.
Sanderson’s attorney asked her how the accident affected her, and she snapped at the man, “We lost half a day of skiing.”
These comments attracted a lot of attention, and netizens made fun of the actress indiscriminately.

Sanderson claims the crash, which he says was Paltrow’s fault, left him with permanent brain damage, broken ribs and led to a reduced quality of life. He is asking for more than 428 million euros in compensation.
Paltrow has countersued Sanderson and says he is responsible for the crash and is seeking nominal damages of $1 plus court costs. She dropped the half-day lost comment to support her claim for damages.
