Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Jeremy Renner Appears in First Interview Since Accident – ‘I Was Conscious The Whole Time’

Actor Jeremy Renner had a brutal accident earlier this year when he was hit by his snowmobile. He speaks now in the first interview granted to him since the accident. He spoke about the accident with Diane Sawyer and told her how the accident happened and what his life is like today. The interview will be published in its entirety on April 6, but a small excerpt has already been published.
When asked if he remembered the pain, Renner replied, “Oh, I remember everything. I was conscious all the time.”
Sawyer then listed his injuries, which included more than 30 broken bones, and asked Renner about when he said “sorry” to his family in sign language when he couldn’t speak after the accident.
“Yeah,” Renner said then after a short pause, clearly having trouble remembering. But he said he chose to survive.
“You’re not going to kill me. Certainly not.”
Renner had to undergo a number of operations after the accident, but his condition remained ambiguous for some time.
“I lost a lot of flesh and bone in this life experience, but it filled me with energy, love and titanium.”
Sawyer then asked him if he saw the same man in the mirror today that he saw before the accident. Then Renner smiled and said, “No, I’m a lucky man”
