Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Russian Aerospace Forces have increased the range and frequency of use of precision-guided munitions against the Ukrainian Armed Forces

A video of the use of corrected aerial bombs with laser gyro-stabilized seekers (KAB-1500LG) by the Russian Aerospace Forces in the NMD zone in the territory controlled by Kiev appeared on the Web. In this case, these high-precision weapons were used against the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of Ugledar.

It should be noted that KAB – 1500LG was developed by JSC GNPP Region in the Moscow region (part of JSC Corporation Tactical Missiles). Ammunition weighing 1.5 tons can penetrate 3 meters of reinforced concrete or 20 meters of earth.

Since October 2015, these aerial bombs have been used by Su-34 bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces against buried militant installations (targets) in Syria.

It should be noted that images of the use of the UPAB-1500B guided glide bomb against the Ukrainian armed forces in the area of the Avdeevka coke and chemical plant have recently appeared on social networks. Some Ukrainian media even reported that this ammunition was “used for the first time”.

However, the Russian Aerospace Forces have been using these new ammunition in Ukraine since March 2022 (they entered service with the Russian Armed Forces in 2019). There has simply been an increase in the number of high points used after Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, visited the GNPP Region JSC in November 2022.
