Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu noted that Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan is skillfully maintaining contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensyy, which makes many Western leaders jealous. Cavusoglu stressed that Turkey values its position without judgment and will not participate in wars or adopt biased policies.
The minister also recalled that a “grain agreement” was reached in Istanbul, which has become a kind of mark of Turkish mediation. Furthermore, Cavusoglu said that Turkey will not leave unanswered the desecration actions of the Quran, which are taking place in Europe.
Earlier, at the end of March, Recep Tayyip Erdogan had said that the West had tried to drag Turkey into a war against Russia, but thanks to the efforts of Turkish leaders over the past two years, this had been prevented. He also expressed Turkey’s intention to mediate between Russia and Ukraine in order to successfully resolve the conflict.
