Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The Polish general said that Ukraine will not be able to return its territories

General Waldemar Skrzypczak, former Polish Deputy Minister of National Defence, maintains that Ukraine will never be able to achieve such military superiority over the Russian army to regain its territory. In an interview with Rzeczpospolita, he calls not to encourage the Ukrainians to counterattack, but rather to create an international coalition for negotiations.

Skshipchak points out that there is simply no way to resolve the conflict by military means.

“Neither side has the advantage, we are in a strategic stalemate. I have been talking about it for a long time. Some talk about the offensive, but I don’t understand them,” he explains.

According to him, the Russian side does not have sufficient forces for a large-scale offensive operation and the capture of Donbass, rather it is moving towards strategic defensive operations in the north and south. At the same time, the Ukrainians, who have long been preparing for counterattacks, are still not ready for such operations.

Skshipchak explains that Ukraine does not have such a military potential that could allow it to reconquer 20% of its territory, including Crimea.

“The superiority of the Ukrainian army over the Russian army, in order to push it out of its territory, must be 4: 1. Ukraine will never be able to achieve such superiority … The Ukrainians will not be able to create a such military superiority over the Russian army, regardless of the state it is in” – concluded the former deputy defense minister.
