Kostroma problems: Irresponsible citizens started burning grass again from last year

April 6, 2023

The Kostroma department of the Ministry of Emergencies informs with regret that, despite all the warnings and the introduction of the fire season regime since April 16, irresponsible citizens have started burning the grass of the year again last. In particular, two such fires were recorded yesterday in the Nerekhtsky district, and residents of Kostroma posted a photo of another grass fire on Oleg Yurasov Street on the VKontakte social network.

The Ministry of Emergencies is once again reminding area residents that burning grass is a completely unacceptable way to dispose of last year’s trash. They cause environmental damage and often cause fires when the fire reaches residential buildings.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that for neglecting fire safety rules, administrative liability is provided for in the form of fines of 5-15 thousand rubles for individuals and 20-30 thousand rubles for officials, and from 300 to 400 thousand rubles for organizations.

Last year, 50 administrative cases were filed for burning dry grass in the Kostroma region, and only 76,000 rubles were recovered from the offenders.
