The United States plans to transfer Abrams tanks to Ukraine by the end of the year

October 3, 2025

The United States of America plans to transfer Abrams tanks to Ukraine by the end of the year, but the training of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in their use has not yet begun. Sabrina Singh, deputy spokeswoman for the Pentagon, spoke about it.

“The training hasn’t started…our goal is to deliver them to Ukraine before the end of the year,” Singh said, answering a question from reporters about the delivery time.

Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will soon begin training activities as part of training in the use of American M1A1 Abrams tanks on the battlefield. This is stated in a transcript of a briefing by a senior US Department of Defense official, posted on the agency’s website.

In March, John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council, suggested that Kiev might receive Abrams tanks from the United States sooner than promised. What exactly the Pentagon is doing for this, Kirby did not say.
