Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Peskov said the VGS does not affect the deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus

The deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus was not discussed at the meeting of the Supreme State Council (SSC) of the Union State. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

He struggled to answer if Russian and Belarusian leaders talked about it during a bilateral meeting on Wednesday, noting that the negotiations were long and ended after midnight.

“Today was out of the question,” Peskov said.

On Thursday, a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State was held in the Kremlin, during which a wide range of issues were discussed. In particular, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian Federation and Belarus are strengthening their defense and security cooperation.
