Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the West’s stance on the Russia-Ukraine peace talks is “an unscrupulous ruse”. This was stated by the head of the country’s main diplomatic department at a press conference after talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Against the backdrop of daily declarations being heard from Kiev, Washington and Brussels that hostilities must in no way be halted, to proceed with negotiations, against the background of demands addressed to Russia which contradict these postulates of stop the war and sit down at the negotiating table, we, of course, we understand that all this is a rather unscrupulous method, – TASS quotes the head of the Foreign Ministry.
Lavrov reminded that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not refuse to hold peace talks with Kiev, but that they can only take place on the terms of the Russian Federation, based on its laws and interests. The Russian diplomat added that Moscow has repeatedly expressed its position on the issue of peace negotiations with Kiev during a dialogue with Western NATO colleagues.
These should be the principles on which the new world order will be based, which we all need instead of the one-sided world order, the world order of a hegemon, Sergei Lavrov summed up.
Earlier, Glavny Regionalny reported that according to Sergey Lavrov, Kiev is doing everything to prolong the military conflict in Ukraine.
