Simba: the life of a small lion cub at Okulovsky Zoo

In the private zoo “Alyonushka” near Okulovka, newborn lion cubs are bred. Not so long ago, on April 4, a couple of lions first became parents at the Alyonushka Okulovsky Zoo.

Babies weighed no more than two kilograms, only 1700-1800 grams each. One of the cubs even had to be taken away from its parents under the supervision of specialists for fear for its life.

The lion cub was called Simba, he was placed in the care of veterinarian Polina Alekseeva. The girl monitors the condition of the baby, feeds him every two hours and massages the tummy.

Simba receives a special formula from a bottle with the addition of a colic medicine in the belly.

Also on Saturday, April 8, Simba’s little sister left for human housing with her parents. This was reported in the press service of the Okulovsky zoo “Alyonushka”.

The doctor claims that the animals living in the zoo do not feel the desire to live in nature, because they are born and live among humans.

Earlier, The Eastern Herald in Veliky Novgorod reported that nine Novgorod cats and dogs have gone abroad since the beginning of 2023.
