Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

White House press secretary Jean-Pierre defended Biden and angered reporters – Reuters

During the briefing, one of the media representatives asked Jean-Pierre if the administration was trying to “prevent” the president from speaking to reporters. To this, the press officer categorically replied “absolutely not”, reports RIA News .

Then, those in attendance asked why Biden didn’t have formal press conferences where the media could pose their questions to the president. To that, Jean-Pierre said Biden “spoke to you on several occasions,” adding that she had nothing to say about an official press conference.

However, the journalists did not calm down and recalled that Biden does not adhere to the “norm” of communication with the press, which was the case with previous American presidents. They pointed out that the media had not had the opportunity to ask Biden questions “in an official setting” for a long time. But Jean-Pierre said his boss was “unprecedented” in responding to the large number of questions “shouted” from seats at events.

It is noted that this conversation aroused the indignation of journalists. This is not the first time that the US leader’s press secretary has come under pressure due to Biden’s lack of contact with the press.
