Secret “leaked” Pentagon documents could enter the network via the Discord messenger. The Assosoated Press writes about it.
Initially, the material was posted in a little-known newsgroup created by teenagers to discuss the Ukrainian conflict. According to a member of the group going by the nickname Thug Shaker Central, one of the callers going by the name Lucca began sharing supposedly classified documents. At first he was typing texts from memory, but a few months ago he started posting pictures.
The leak of secret Pentagon documents may have been deliberately authorized: it could be an informational preparation for the failure of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, believes military expert Ivan Konovalov.
White House strategic communications coordinator John Kirby said the United States had not yet developed a theory about how the secret documents were leaked. He also noted that some of the documents found on the network have been altered.
