Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the need to create sovereign space systems and switch to the production of products for the benefit of the national economy. He said this at a solemn event in the Kremlin in honor of Cosmonautics Day.
“We need to quickly shift to the production of advanced competitive products for the benefit of the national economy…to create sovereign space systems and a new generation of component base,” Putin said.
The president added that Russia already has its own solutions to solve defense and space exploration problems.
Earlier, Putin congratulated everyone involved in the space industry on Cosmonautics Day. During the meeting with Yuri Borisov, the Russian leader underlined the importance of space exploration for humanity.
