Washington: Four people were killed and three others were injured in two shooting incidents in the US state of northeastern Maine. According to a news agency report, police were called to a home in Bowdoin on Tuesday morning after reports that four people were have been found dead. Shortly thereafter there was a shooting on Interstate 295 in Yarmouth that injured three people, including three people in their vehicles.
One person has been taken into custody but has not been identified. Maine State Police have confirmed that there were two shootings, but the motive behind them is not known. Maine Governor Janet Mills tweeted Tuesday afternoon that she was shocked and deeply saddened by the incident. Mills wrote, “Incidents of violence such as those that occurred today shake our province and communities to the core.”
