Not a government parrot, now CBI has become an eagle

Satisfaction of any organization matters. India is the only country where a person of sixty years is considered young. There has been a tradition of saying ‘Satha Par Patha’. More or less the same thing applies to institutions. Completion of 60 years of an organization is a big achievement in itself. The establishment of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently completed sixty years. It was established on 01 April 1963 through a resolution from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946 was passed with the resolve of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to eradicate corruption and establish integrity. In 1962, Lal Bahadur Shastri had formed the Santhanam Committee to deal with the increasing incidents of corruption in the administration and to give suggestions. Following the recommendations of the committee, the Central Bureau of Investigation ie CBI was established by the Government of India on April 1, 1963 by resolution.

CBI has been serving the people since 1963. It has its offices in 36 cities of the country from Srinagar to Thiruvananthapuram and from Gandhinagar to Itanagar. CBI has launched Operation Trishul for return of wanted fugitives to India, Operation Garuda for exchange of drug related information, Operation Chakra to curb cyber crimes, Operation Megh Chakra to prevent child sexual abuse. The country’s first CBI director DP Kohli told his officers that the public expects the highest standards of efficiency and integrity from you. This belief has to be maintained. Needless to say that even today CBI works hard to prove itself true to those expectations. Whether it has been the LN Mishra murder case, the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, the Mumbai bomb blast case or the Purulia arms drop case, the quality and transparency with which the CBI has unearthed them cannot be praised.

Sharda Chit Fund Scam of West Bengal, Coal Scam, IC-813 Hijacking Case, Srijan Scam of Bihar, Priyadarshini Mattu Murder Case, Fodder Scam of Bihar, Commonwealth Games Scam, Telecom Scam, Harshad Mehta Case, Stamp Paper Scam, Satyam Scam, CAT scam case, Co-operative group housing scam, Shopian rape and murder case, Bengaluru murder case, Assam serial blast case, Kothkhai rape and murder case, Yash Bank-DHFL loan fraud case, NSE co-location scam investigated and concluded He has many achievements to his credit. She remains the thorn in the eyes of both criminals and politicians but she has never failed to win the trust of the public.

It is another matter that he was also accused of working at the behest of the Central Government. In the UPA government headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the country’s top court had even called it a government parrot, but despite this, the CBI did not compromise on its responsibilities. Whenever he got the opportunity, he not only speeded up his investigation process but also played a big role in sending the criminals behind bars. The government of the Congress and its allies, which was accused of keeping the CBI locked in a golden cage, the same Congress and the anti-BJP parties currently standing in its support, also put the role of the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate ie ED in the dock. Are. There is a big reason for this too.

Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the CBI not to spare corrupt persons. In March 2016, minister Jitendra Singh told Parliament that 1,136 people were convicted for corruption in 2013, 993 in 2014, 878 in 2015, 71 in 2016. From this point of view, the rate of conviction was higher in the UPA government. According to Sibal, people can lie but facts cannot. Who is protecting the corrupt? Now it is a balance of their convenience but when Jitendra Singh presented this figure, his point was that there has been a decrease in corruption in the NDA government. Now it is our individual point of view that we see things from the point of view of our convenience.

The truth is that CBI and ED investigations are going on against many leaders of the opposition. Most of the investigations have been going on for a long time. Many leaders of parties like Shiv Sena, Congress, Trinamool Congress, RJD, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, TRS, Aam Aadmi Party, National Conference, Nationalist Congress Party are under the purview of CBI investigation. As the leaders of the opposition parties are caught in the clutches of the investigation, the Modi government is also facing allegations of misuse of CBI and ED. It seems that in view of the 2024 general elections, if there is unity among the opposition parties, then the CBI-ED’s action against them will be the main factor in this.

It is another matter that during the nine years of the Modi government, the opposition has not been able to find any concrete issue by which it can cross the electoral divide. The opposition wants to challenge the Narendra Modi government at the Center by raising virtual issues like misuse of CBI, ED, attack on constitutional institutions, threat to democracy. The way the opposition is trying to challenge the government by making allegations of corruption a political issue, the Modi government has also made up its mind to play the political match of 2024 on the pitch of corruption.

In the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of CBI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a direct message to the opposition by giving advice to the CBI not to spare a single corrupt person. At the same time, corruption has not only been termed as the biggest obstacle in the path of democracy and justice, but it has also been said that the main responsibility of the Central Bureau of Investigation is to free India from corruption. He also did not take any time to make it clear that the political will to fight corruption is not less in the present government. The country wants that no corrupt person should be spared. He believes that corruption takes away his rights from the poor, gives birth to many crimes. His government is taking action against black money and benami property on mission mode. Not only the corrupt, she is also fighting against the causes of corruption.

Corruption is the biggest enemy of talent. It encourages nepotism and nepotism. When these two increase, the strength of the country is affected and when the strength is weak, it also affects the development. Even today, when someone feels that a case is incurable, voices are raised that the matter should be handed over to the CBI. In the UPA government, the CBI was a parrot whose wings were clipped due to lack of political will, but now it has not only got wings but is flying prominently in the field of investigation. She is no longer a caged government parrot, but has become an eagle who is devouring the snakes of corruption one by one.
