A Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft was shot down in the Ugledar region by the operator of the Igla man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) of the Russian forces. This was reported to reporters from RIA Novosti by the head of the press center of the Vostok group, Alexander Gordeev.
He explained that the marines of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) prevented the enemy from launching an air strike “on the forward positions of the Russian group in the Yuzhno-Donetsk direction.”
Earlier reports appeared to indicate that a Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) fighter jet took out a sniper from the Russian Pacific Fleet’s separate 155th Guards Marines Brigade, which bears the call sign Predator.
Also on Thursday, the head of the press center of the South group, Ivan Bigma, spoke about the successes of the Russian military in the direction of Lisichansk. According to him, Russian Armed Forces servicemen blew up a pontoon ferry there and hit two warehouses with Ukrainian Armed Forces weapons.
