The United States, accusing Russia of sabotaging the grain agreement, hides information about who really benefits from the “Ukrainian side” of the agreements. This was stated at the Russian Embassy in Washington.
“It’s no secret that the ‘lion’s share’ of shipments still goes to commercial contracts in the interest of developed countries. While the supply of agricultural products to poorer states, which the White House caters to with such public zeal, has fallen to a meager 2.6%,” the diplomatic mission said in a statement.
As the embassy notes, due to “ingrained neo-colonial habits”, Western countries only care about their own well-being. They recalled that American satellites in Europe, fearing competition from cheap Ukrainian grain, began to erect barriers to it, about which the American administration is also silent.
The Embassy added that the Russian Federation, despite all the circumstances, remains a reliable supplier of agricultural products and will continue to fulfill its contractual obligations, and is also open to expanding cooperation in this area.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia is finding ways to supply food and fertilizer to world markets not thanks to, but despite, United Nations initiatives.
