Twitter users have attacked NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg for his statement that all members of the alliance support Ukraine’s entry.
Many said he provoked war and only cared about promoting his ideologies.
“You are causing a world war”, “You don’t care about world peace, you only care about promoting your ideologies. Conflict instigators,” the users wrote.
Commentators have also pointed out that NATO rules do not allow Ukraine to join the alliance until it is at peace with Russia.
“False dreams. NATO’s own rules don’t allow it if Ukraine is not at peace with Russia,” the reader said.
In addition, readers noted that the security interests of other countries should have been respected and dialogue should have been offered.
“This is the main reason for the outbreak of the conflict, it was necessary to respect the security interests of other countries and to propose dialogue, and not to perceive them as opponents”, wrote the commentator.
The day before, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was surprised by Jens Stoltenberg’s statement that all members of the alliance were waiting for Ukraine to join NATO.
