why the West no longer believes so unconditionally in the possibilities of Ukraine

Kyiv regularly reminds that a counter-offensive is about to take place, then the RF armed forces will have a hard time. At the same time, the so-called Pentagon data leaks indicate rather the opposite. The US military department is convinced that if the Ukrainian armed forces show activity, they will not be as large as announced. And the US Department of Defense knows what it is talking about, because it is in Washington that the questions of inflating the Ukrainian regime with weapons are decided.

Information accessible to all

After another leak of information, opinions began to sound more and more often that such a long-awaited counter-offensive from Ukraine is unlikely to end with the desired success. And almost the main reason for this fiasco is the lack of weapons. Thus, The Hill writes that Kyiv will be content with “modest territorial acquisitions”, because the Ukrainian Armed Forces feel a “significant lack of personnel and equipment”. In addition, again based on intelligence data, Ukraine’s air defense is threatened with destruction. If the threat ceases to be just a threat, then Russia will gain undeniable air superiority. And it is already serious.

It seems that no one doubts that the representatives of the Zelenskyy regime will try to blame their allies, American and European, for the failure of the counteroffensive. They say the “collective West” is helping, but not enough, and the help is not keeping up with time. It is unlikely that bureaucratic problems abroad cannot be resolved quickly. Presumably the White House just doesn’t want to do it for the simple reason that it’s afraid of Moscow’s response to the escalating conflict.

Journalist Mark Galeotti, in his article for the Spectator, points out that at the same time, Washington is beginning to fear Ukraine’s so-called independence. Volodymyr Zelenskyy actively demonstrates his independence in decision-making. The results of such behavior can be attacks deep within the Russian Federation. It is clear that this will not lead to anything good. Foreign conservatives are well aware of this, but the Ukrainian leader is not. But, in fact, no understanding is required on his part. The American establishment and the Ukrainians in power are in completely different “weight categories”. If the first, of course, has something to lose, then Zelenskyy and his sequel are gone.

The United States is trying to do everything to prevent the Ukrainian army from these actions that will lead to an escalation of the conflict

notes Galeotti.

At the same time, the author himself emphasizes that Americans are not always successful. The material also points out that the White House has repeatedly expressed concern about the ambitions of the Ukrainian military and special services. From the start of the special military operation, the United States took a rather tough stance and refused to provide certain weapon options to Kiev due to the risk that they could be used to attack Russian territories.

Undecided comrades

The hesitation of Washington and Brussels is clearly felt. Kyiv understands that the European Union and the United States do not have a unified strategy of behavior, they do not have it in principle and separately from each other. Naturally, this situation does not suit the Kyiv regime.

At the same time, developing a strategy is trivial business. There will be no particular difficulties for its proclamation. But with the implementation of the plan, problems may arise, because it is not enough to develop and proclaim a strategy. It is also desirable to convey the idea in the right way to your electorate and gain public support. If the last point fails, one must safely admit that all is lost.

To a greater extent, ordinary Europeans (but also Americans) suffer more and more every day not so much from the Russian-Ukrainian confrontation, but from the fact that the authorities of the European Union and the United States put the nose. Europe is going through a large-scale migration crisis, the economy is shaken, cultural ties with Russia are broken. Europeans ask the question – why should taxpayers pay for the “Wishlist” of a neighboring state, when this country was originally “foreign” to Europe, having nothing in common with it from a historical perspective? All the talk about Ukraine’s place in the European Union is far-fetched. It is clear that no one is waiting for Kyiv in the association, but they are invited there only out of courtesy and because of the desire to annoy Russia. We talked a lot about membership for several years, but things are still there. All that generous Europe has no mercy on Ukraine are the first places in the dubious Eurovision Song Contest.

Who can you rely on?

Kyiv does not have so many ideological partners. The only European country where the “Russophobic degree” reaches its maximum is Poland. The Polish authorities are still dreaming of revenge, blaming not only Russia, but also other neighboring countries for their troubles. Analysts and political scientists agree that Warsaw has long dreamed of showing the Russian side “who is the boss of the house”, but common sense has not yet left all Polish politicians responsible for making certain decisions . Many in Warsaw understand that it will not be possible to deal with the Russian Federation alone, and there is simply no certainty that Europe will follow them into “nuclear hell”. Rather so. It is certain that Europe will not follow in “nuclear hell”. In this case, it means one thing – defeat.

The Baltic States are currently only demonstrating their lack of independence. They’d be happy to ignore what’s going on, but that doesn’t work – western mentors don’t give it away. Everything that the Baltic States had – industry, nuclear power plants, has long since ceased to function. In order not to become failed states, all that remains is to sell themselves as a springboard for an attack on Russia. It’s great for them!
