Zelenskyy: the surrender of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) will open a springboard for the offensive of Russian troops

– Published on:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with an Arab TV channel Al-Arabia said that at the moment the armed forces of Ukraine cannot leave Artemovsk (Bakhmut), because in this case Russian troops will have the opportunity to occupy more territories.

According to him, the refusal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Artemovsk (Bakhmut) will contribute to the expansion of the front.

“Among other things, such actions on our part could give Russian troops and Wagner a chance to occupy more Ukrainian territories,” Zelenskyy added.

He clarified that in the event that Artemovsk (Bakhmut) comes under the full control of Russian troops, then this situation could create a “springboard” for a new attack on Slaviansk and Kramatorsk.

Recall that fierce battles for Artemovsk (Bakhmut), located on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic, have been going on for several months.
