Fitness clubs have reported falling sales this summer and have asked authorities for support. Institutions are ready to help rehabilitate military and mobilized people, reports RBC.
On the eve of the summer vacation, Russians began to save on sports. This stems from a letter that the National Fitness Society sent to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.
In 2023, the industry managed to return to pre-pandemic indicators. Subscription sales in the first quarter of 2023 increased by 10% compared to the first quarter of 2022. In January-March 2023, sales of complementary services increased by 7% year-on-year, but were 1.6% lower than those of 2019.
However, the association also reported an increase in costs. According to them, the cost of maintaining clubs has increased by an average of 23% over three years. The marginality of fitness clubs has fallen from 10 to 15% in 2019 to 3 to 5% in 2023.
Club owners note that instead of annual subscriptions, customers began to buy “short” subscriptions more often.
