The Presidents of the Russian Federation and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan will have a telephone conversation before the solemn ceremony on the occasion of the delivery of Russian-made nuclear fuel to the Akkuyu nuclear power plant. This was announced by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.

“We are expecting a telephone conversation between Putin and Erdogan around 3 p.m., after which there will be joint participation with Turkish President Erdogan in the ceremony on the occasion of the delivery of Russian-made nuclear fuel to the power unit n ° 1. 1 of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant,” he said.

The event will be held via videoconference, Peskov added.


The Akkuyu nuclear power plant is the first nuclear power plant in Turkey, Russian specialists are actively involved in its construction.
