David Arquette, the ex-husband of superstar Courtney Cox, has admitted he struggled with his fame and fortune. He suffered from a sense of inferiority as Cox had for a time become one of the most famous women in the world and was raking in a lot of money as her career stagnated.
This is stated in a recent interview with Arquette on the SiriusXM radio station, where he reports on various personal issues.
“I had traditional ideas about masculinity, like I wanted to be the one to take care of my family and give birth to them,” Arquette said, adding that her attitude caused all kinds of pain and arguments in their relationship.
Arquette and Cox met on the set of the 1996 horror film Scream and married three years later. They had a daughter, Coco, in 2004, but their marriage ended in divorce in 2012.
However, the couple managed to resolve their differences and are now good friends who together take care of the education of their daughter. Arquette married Christina McLarty in 2015, while Cox has been in a relationship with Snow Patrol singer Johnny McDaid since 2013.
