Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal (Prachanda) expressed his gratitude to China for the medical assistance provided on 28 April. He said Nepal looks forward to strengthening cooperation with China under the concept of building a human health community.
On the same day, Prachanda attended the handover ceremony of the China-assisted Civil Service Hospital Upgradation and Renovation Project and the celebration of the 60th anniversary of China’s foreign medical aid in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. In his speech, he said that China provided Nepal with medical equipment and supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that Nepal will always remember the generous assistance and “sincere solidarity” shown by its friendly neighbor China.
Prachanda said that the Civil Services Hospital has become a symbol of close cooperation between Nepal and China. Nepal has benefited from China’s continuous support in building infrastructure, medical services and people’s livelihood. As a close neighbor, good friend and reliable partner, Nepal looks forward to developing deeper partnership with China in medical technology and other fields.
At the same time, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, delivered a speech at the ceremony, saying that China has embarked on a new journey to build an all-round modern socialist country, and Nepal is about to move beyond the category of least developed countries and become one of the United Nations’ 2030 targets. Will achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. It is hoped that bilateral relations and practical cooperation will bring more tangible benefits to the peoples of the two countries.
