Amritsar. Five lakh 97 thousand 943 tonnes of wheat has arrived in mandis till Tuesday in Amritsar, Punjab, out of which various agencies are procuring fast and farmers are being paid into their bank accounts within 48 hours.
Deputy Commissioner Mohd. Harpreet Singh Sudan gave this information here on Wednesday. He told that so far Pungrain has supplied 188600 tonnes, F.C.I. 22818, Markfed 137130 Tonnes, Pansup 127062 Tonnes, Punjab Warehouse Corporation 122333 Tonnes have been procured.
100 percent payment has been made to the farmers for the wheat procured by the Pansap Agency. He said that till now Rs 1106.06 crore has been paid to the farmers.
