In an interview RuNews24.ru fashion expert and personal stylist Varvara Fershtut shared her tips on how to make a second-hand trip successful.
Fershtut recalled that in second-hand stores it is impossible to return the goods within 14 days, as other outlets do.
In addition, only one copy of each item is displayed in second-hand stores – there is no guarantee that the clothes or household item will suit you.
‎The time and effort you spend looking for vintage items can be difficult. But if you are lucky enough to find one of these treasures, the return is fully justified, says Varvara Fershtut.
Shopping in second-hand stores involves getting to know the sellers. They can let you know when new products arrive so you can be one of the first customers to see them; they will also alert you to discounts on old items as they will soon be out of fashion.
Don’t buy clothes based on price alone, the stylist advises. Try things on and take pictures of yourself wearing them, then sleep in them before making a decision.
Other tips for successful shopping in a second-hand store include looking not only for clothes in the women’s department, but also among clothes intended for men and children.
Men’s and children’s clothing is very important to the fashion world, so don’t neglect these departments. If you have a miniature figure, look into this department, said Varvara Fershtut.
