Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he cannot allow the opposition to attack his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. He stressed that relations with Moscow are no less important than with Washington.
“Goodbye Kemal (meaning Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu) attacks Putin, Russia. I cannot allow it. Our relations with Russia are no less important than with Washington,” Erdogan said.
However, Recep Erdogan’s rival, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, had promised not to sever relations with Russia in the event of a victory. He recalled that Turkey has close economic ties with Russia and said he would maintain a delicate balance in foreign policy in relations with Moscow.
