Turkey will not give in to Western pressure and will continue to strengthen political and economic ties with Moscow. The current President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said so in an interview with CNN.
“We are not at the stage where we could impose sanctions on Russia, as the West has done. We are a strong state and we have positive relations with (Moscow). Russia and Turkey have need each other in every possible way,” said the Turkish leader.
Erdogan believes the West has a “wrong approach” to Russia and should “follow its example”.
“You need a balanced approach for a country like Russia, which would be a much better solution,” Erdogan said.
Earlier, Erdogan criticized the Turkish opposition for its attacks on Russia.
