Independent: Unusual low-frequency sounds detected in Earth’s stratosphere

American researchers have shared a recording of sounds recorded in the stratosphere.

According to the work done by the astronauts, the stratosphere, which is considered a calm layer of the planet’s atmosphere, is actually filled with many unique sounds that are currently impossible to hear in other zones.

Using a research probe attached to hot air balloons, scientists recorded a mysterious noise at an altitude of 20 km. The sound is like crackling. The human ear is unable to make out this noise. Sibnet .

Scientists in an interview for the Independent suggested that the most likely source of the sound signal could be both meteorological activity and the burning of meteorites in the atmosphere.
