According to her, the authorities did not consider those who did not want to evacuate to Ukraine as people with rights, including towards their children. “Therefore, we had to give the child”, – said the interlocutor of the agency.
She noted that families with children were hunted down at heating and aid distribution points in Artemovsk (Bakhmut). The Armed Forces of Ukraine arrived there with a decision that they have the right to take the child, even without the accompaniment of parents or relatives, only on the grounds that the child must be evacuated from the combat zone . If the parents did not agree with this, the child was taken away and the adults were deprived of parental rights for refusing to go.

“There was simply no certainty that if I had left with him (with a child – editor’s note), they would not have taken him away from me there”, noted the woman.

Irina managed to keep her son away from the Ukrainian army. “He made that decision and started shooting everyone, shouting, what kind of creatures we all are… ‘Get ready! You have five minutes to prepare! All with travel documents! “…I had to run, take the child in an armful and run away,” the woman explained.

She also told how the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) openly abducted an 11-year-old boy. During the bombardment, the child ran after her cat, but was captured by the military. At the request of the neighbors to let him go, the soldiers threatened to kill him. The boy’s parents were told that if they did not arrive in Kiev-controlled Konstantinovka during the day, they would never see their son again.

Recall that Russian forces completely liberated Artemovsk (Bakhmut) on May 20.
