Doctor Alexandra Chistyakova said that coffee reduces the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease

Healthy lifestyle specialist Alexandra Chistyakova told the Russians about the beneficial properties of an invigorating coffee drink for the brain.

Studies have shown that the substances contained in coffee reduce the risk of plaque formation in the vessels of the brain. Plus, the production of adrenaline from caffeine promotes blood flow, which delivers more oxygen and nutrients.

“The caffeine contained in coffee is primarily a stimulant of the nervous system, green and black tea have similar effects,” the doctor shared.

The main thing is to be careful in quantity. The ideal norm is no more than two or three cups a day, but it is better for hypertensive patients and people with increased anxiety to refuse coffee.

Patients with obesity and diabetes should not get carried away with coffee with cream, syrups and sugar. This will only aggravate the health condition.

“A cup of coffee (240 milliliters) contains approximately 100 milligrams of caffeine,” the specialist noted.

In general, if there are no restrictions, then coffee will be an excellent tool for preventing the development of Alzheimer’s disease. The risk of dementia increases with age as the body’s cognitive functions deteriorate.

“The positive effect on memory and cognitive function is the effect of the two main ingredients of coffee – caffeine and polyphenols, which help reduce inflammation,” the doctor concluded, writes Lenta.ru.
