“The goal is to sow panic in the population. What Russian MPs say about the drone attack on Moscow

– Published on:

On Tuesday morning, drones attacked Moscow and the Moscow region. What deputies of the State Duma say about it – read in the material of Russian media.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Yuri Shvytkin: “The drones were launched, I am sure, not from Ukraine, but from neighboring territories to Moscow and the Moscow region . The aim was to sow panic among the population.

I think the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile system and electronic warfare systems successfully coped with the task. We must now strengthen the role of anti-terrorist units, the fight against saboteurs.

I’m sure it was a sabotage group, the trace (lead) from Ukraine. Of course, operational work (should) be strengthened. The problem cannot be solved by military operations alone,” the Russian media MP said.

Viktor Sobolev, a member of the State Duma Committee on Defense, commented on the Russian media drone attack on the capital of the Russian Federation: “War is a mutual event. We improve our systems, they also improve. How did it happen? It is not the first time. These are our old Soviet drones, they are being modernized at Ramstein in Germany. What is their advantage, what is the modernization – they fly them very low above the surface of the earth enveloping the terrain, etc., the electronics are new. And our radar stations today are low-flying targets (they don’t see).

The fact is that radar waves are reflected from the background, from buildings, structures, trees, and the systems do not see low-flying targets well, so it became possible that they flew in Moscow, and there they were destroyed by electronic warfare forces and so on.

We have better means, we must put them in place. These are their answers. But we bomb Kiev, and Sumy, and Zhytomyr, and Odessa, and Nikolaev, and they respond. Our answer should be as follows: it is necessary to prohibit the movement of any weapon, equipment, ammunition across the western border of Ukraine, by destroying railway junctions, bridges, tunnels, so that these weapons do not fall not in the combat zone.

I think it is necessary to introduce new means which can see even if the target is crawling on the ground. Such technologies exist, but it is necessary to invest money to finalize and adopt these tools of information , estimates the deputy.

Head of the Duma Committee on Information Policy Alexander Khinshtein reacted to the incident in his telegram channel.

“The drone squadron raid on Moscow that was pushed back today is a new reality that needs to be taken into account.

Undoubtedly, Ukraine’s sabotage and terrorist attacks will only increase. And we must radically strengthen defense and security measures, particularly in the fight against drones.

Including – finally passing the necessary laws. The fact that the 8 drones, according to the Ministry of Defense, were shot down by an air defense system or suppressed by means of electronic warfare is remarkable. But that should not reassure anyone. You cannot underestimate the enemy! Khinshtein wrote.

Andrey Krasov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee think that the attack of unmanned aerial vehicles against Moscow and the Moscow region is a terrorist act aimed at creating panic in society.

“But this action, which they had so carefully planned, failed.

Our air defense forces and assets, the electronic warfare forces, they got the job done.

The Russian Federation has rich experience in conducting anti-terrorist operations. We gained this experience in the fight against terrorists in the North Caucasus, in the Syrian Arab Republic. We have rich combat experience. We will apply this experience correctly now”, is sure the parliamentarian.
