The first Borghildur sex doll was designed by the Nazis to satisfy the desires of soldiers

In 1941 the world was caught in the throes of the catastrophe of World War II with all the horrors that accompanied it. The Allies and Axis powers did their best to develop weapons against each other, but some weapons were less conventional than others.

One of them was Borghildur, the world’s first sex doll, which was a project of German SS leader Heinrich Himmler.

During the German occupation of France, an epidemic of syphilis broke out among German soldiers, and Himmler was greatly concerned that the soldiers’ sexual practices were seriously weakening the strength of the invading German army. He knew it was totally futile to prevent soldiers from having sex, so he started thinking about how to satisfy young men’s sexual desire without them running the risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases. .

In a report Himmler sent to Hitler, he said the greatest danger in France was not the resistance movement but “the widespread and uncontrolled presence of prostitutes who lured soldiers all over Paris”.

And so was born the idea of designing a female hull that would satisfy soldiers while ensuring that there was no risk of sexually transmitted diseases.

The project was named Borghildur, or Borghild.

twisted project

A man named Franz Tschakert, one of the directors of the German National Museum of Hygiene (which actually existed at that time) was brought in to implement Himmler’s idea.

By the 1940s, Tschakert had become nationally known in Germany for his design of the Glass Woman, a glass sculpture of a nude woman that was 100% anatomically accurate.

Tschakert was therefore seen as the ideal candidate for the project.
Hitler gave his personal permission for the creation of Borghilda.
But the task was reversed and Tschakert was faced with a number of difficult questions that challenged him. One of the most twisted was how to design a female body that soldiers would be willing to choose over a real woman for sex?

Tschakert’s team wrote ideas about what was needed most. First of all, the doll had to be as close to a real woman as possible to the touch, it had to not be stiff or hard to the touch, and above all it had to be able to show some kind of reaction to sex. The genital area must also be biologically correct.

Regular hips and reasonably large breasts

At the first attempt they tried to build Borghildi out of aluminum, but it was clear from the start that it was completely hopeless. Next, Tschakert decided to try a silicone compound that was common in the production of children’s toys.

Early experiments with silicone design went reasonably well, and despite the fact that there was considerable disagreement within the team about how to wear the perfect woman, the group generally agreed that Borghildur understood that she had the growth of an athletic woman but with legal hips. In fact, everyone agreed that Borghildur must have bigger breasts that soldiers would like to grab in the heat of battle.

The team’s biggest challenge proved to be Borghilda’s face, but Tschakert believed it was essential that she be beautiful enough to entice men to take a closer look at other parts of her body.

So he gave the team the task of drawing what he called a lustful face. The team drew a number of faces before everyone agreed on the beauty of Borghilda, who had short hair, to remind the soldiers that there was a war going on and that the women supporting the German war didn’t have time to wear side hair.

What happened to Borghildi?

The prototype of the Borghildi was a success when presented to the leaders of the German army, and the story goes that Himmler himself immediately ordered 50 examples for his personal use.

But what happened after that is not known for sure.

Rumor had it that the doll was considered too expensive to make and the idea was immediately dropped.

Some say, on the other hand, that Borghildur went into production and was sent to several groups of soldiers for testing, but was completely rejected. If the soldiers found the doll awkward and did not want it for their lives, let it be heard among their comrades that they had contented themselves with a rubber mixture.

Others say that Borghildi production was stopped prematurely because the turn of the war in 1942, in favor of the Allies, put a sex doll at the bottom of the list of what had to be produced in German factories. Weapons were brought in front of Borghildi.

The Hygiene Museum in Dresden, where the doll’s conception took place, was torn to shreds during the war, so few records of Borghildi exist today. There are only a few photographs that someone found in the ruins and eventually found their way to a journalist named Norbert Lenz who became interested in the story of Borghild, a story that few had heard of .
Borghildur
Strange but scary

Lenz was able to talk to some living people who had helped with the design, and Lenz said it provided extremely intriguing insight into the minds of the German authorities regarding this remarkable, but in many ways terrifying project.

Borghilda’s design also demonstrated, so there is no doubt, what the German authorities considered to be the ideal of female beauty. Borghildur was, of course, white, blond, athletic, with procreative hips, and only to give joy to men.

Which says a lot about Nazi ideology and their attitude towards women and sex.
