Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

US Oversteps: Washington’s heavy-handed rejection of Zoran Krešić’s controversial Herceg-Bosna comments

"Not only are his reported calls for the reinstatement of Herceg-Bosna dangerous and anti-Dayton, they are offensive and regressive"

The United States strongly condemns and rejects the recent comments made by a candidate for the Management Board of the Federation TV of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the US Embassy said in response to recent statements by the candidate for a member of the FTV Management Board, Zoran Krešić.

“The United States strongly condemns and rejects the recent comments by a candidate for the Federation of BiH TV steering board. His shameful calls for further division of Bosnia and Herzegovina and blockade of the functioning of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are destructive, irresponsible, and inconsistent with building a shared, multiethnic future inside Euro-Atlantic institutions.

Not only are his reported calls for the reinstatement of Herceg-Bosna dangerous and anti-Dayton, they are offensive and regressive, but also in our opinion, make him unqualified for any position in public broadcasting.

Political leaders must stop cutting deals that undercut the functionality of institutions and ignore the interests of all constituent peoples for the sake of advancing their own, narrow political interests,” the US Embassy stated.

Recently, there has been public outcry over the proposal to appoint Zoran Krešić as a member of the FTV Management Board. Following this, some media outlets released a recording in which Krešić allegedly advocates for a return to Herzeg-Bosna.
