Dhamaal 4, the fourth film in Indra Kumar’s comedy franchise, released its official trailer on June 12, 2026. The film is set to arrive in Indian cinemas on July 10, one week earlier than its originally announced July 17 date, and brings back a large ensemble cast for what the trailer sets up as the gang’s most elaborate and chaotic adventure to date.

The Dhamaal franchise began in 2007, when Indra Kumar’s ensemble comedy about a group of bumbling friends chasing a criminal windfall became a surprise box office hit. Double Dhamaal (2011) followed with much of the original cast, and Total Dhamaal (2019) expanded the group considerably, adding Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor to the franchise. Dhamaal 4 reunites that expanded ensemble for the first time since that instalment.

The trailer establishes the film’s premise with characteristic speed. The gang discovers a map pointing toward buried treasure, and what follows is a scramble in which each member of the ensemble is simultaneously trying to get there first and being foiled by everyone else. The comedy relies on cumulative mishaps, unexpected physical gags and the friction that comes from putting people who distrust each other in close proximity to an extremely high stake.

Ajay Devgn returns as the anchor of the ensemble, a role he first took on in Total Dhamaal. Arshad Warsi and Riteish Deshmukh, part of the franchise from its first instalment, bring back the chemistry they have refined across three films. Jaaved Jaaferi, whose brand of physical comedy has always been one of the franchise’s distinctive elements, is also back in the fold.

The returning cast is joined by Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor, both of whom appeared in Total Dhamaal and whose pairing has been one of the franchise’s more reliably entertaining dynamics. The two actors share a screen history that goes back to films like Ram Lakhan (1989) and Tezaab (1988), and the franchise has consistently drawn on that familiarity. Esha Gupta, Sanjay Mishra, Boman Irani, Johny Lever and Jackie Shroff are among the wider cast.

At the trailer launch event held at Imagicaa, Arshad Warsi described a cliff sequence filmed at a real location in Maharashtra’s Malshej Ghat rather than a studio set. A shoot planned as a 15 to 20-day schedule was completed in three days, with Warsi crediting Ajay Devgn for pulling it off. He acknowledged that the footage in the trailer looks like visual effects work, but confirmed it was shot on location.

Indra Kumar has directed all four films in the franchise and has spoken of Dhamaal as a project he has shaped across nearly two decades. His career in comedy spans Dil (1990) and Beta (1992) alongside the Dhamaal series, and he has described the fourth instalment as the most technically ambitious of the four while keeping the comedy rooted in character dynamics rather than spectacle alone.

Beyond its central ensemble, Dhamaal 4 features a supporting cast that includes Pitobash, Mahesh Manjrekar, Vijay Patkar, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Anjali Anand, Sudesh Lehri, Manoj Pahwa and Mohammed Ali. The combined scale of the cast reflects the franchise’s approach of surrounding its central group with a rotating set of character actors who carry running gags at the edges of the main plot.

The film is produced by Ajay Devgn, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ashok Thakeria, Indra Kumar, Anand Pandit and Kumar Mangat Pathak. T-Series’ involvement as co-producer places Dhamaal 4 within one of the largest distribution and marketing networks in Indian cinema. The production scale represents a step up from any previous instalment in the series.

Dhamaal 4 arrives in Indian cinemas on July 10, 2026. For a franchise running for nearly twenty years, the fourth instalment carries a cast larger than any of its predecessors and a summer theatrical release window that positions it for the audience that has kept the series alive across its run. The trailer makes clear that the film is not departing from what has worked before, which, for this franchise, is likely exactly what its audience wants.
