Baz Luhrmann’s EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, the Australian director’s archival follow-up to his 2022 biopic Elvis, is now streaming exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States, capping a $23 million theatrical run that began with a 2025 Toronto Film Festival premiere and ended with the format’s most coherent post-IMAX rollout in recent memory.
The 109-minute documentary uses unearthed concert footage, restored audio masters from the RCA tape vault, and a handful of previously-uncirculated 1976 Graceland home recordings to assemble what the film’s marketing describes as Presley telling his own story as the greatest performer of all time. Luhrmann, who shaped the 2022 Austin Butler biopic into a $288 million worldwide gross and a half-dozen Academy Award nominations, has framed EPiC publicly as the longer, leaner companion he had wanted to release in 2022 but had been redirected toward the narrative film. Variety reported the Paramount+ window had been planned since the Toronto Film Festival booking last September.
The theatrical rollout was unusually long for an archival concert title. After the September 2025 Toronto premiere, EPiC opened wide on IMAX screens February 20, 2026, expanded to a standard nationwide release February 27, and was released on premium-VOD April 7. The June 3 Paramount+ debut, which arrived earlier in the month than most theatrical-windowed Paramount titles, was timed to lift the company’s quarterly subscriber-addition number ahead of the cleared Paramount-Warner Bros. Deadline reported the film leans heavily on Presley’s late-1969 International Hotel Las Vegas residency, the August 1972 Madison Square Garden concerts that produced the Elvis: As Recorded at Madison Square Garden live album, and the rarely-seen February 1973 Aloha From Hawaii satellite broadcast. Smaller windows from his 1956 Ed Sullivan Show appearances and 1968 NBC comeback special are interleaved through the film, with restoration handled by the Australian-based Lightyear Restoration team Luhrmann previously used on Australia and Elvis.
The documentary lands inside an unusually thick stretch on the American music release calendar. Paramount+ subscribers can stream EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert immediately. The film’s accompanying soundtrack album, released by RCA/Legacy with a remastered run of the concert performances featured in the documentary, also went live on streaming platforms June 3. A Dolby Atmos-mixed audiophile edition is available for download through Paramount+’s partnership with Apple Digital Masters.
Luhrmann is in pre-production on his next theatrical, a Joan of Arc reimagining for Warner Bros., currently dated for a Christmas 2027 release. The director has said in recent interviews that the EPiC restoration workflow developed at Lightyear is being adapted for the Warner project’s combat sequences. Presley’s estate, run by Riley Keough since the 2023 death of Lisa Marie Presley, has been credited as an active EPiC collaborator and has held promotional events for the film at Graceland through the past month.
EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert is streaming now on Paramount+ in the U.S., with the Canadian Paramount+ window opening July 24. International streaming partners across Europe and Asia will roll the title out through Q3 2026.
