The convergence of the interview and the photographs is the kind of event that talent agencies choreograph carefully and couples deny orchestrating. Whether this one was planned or coincidental is not something Vogue France’s reporting can resolve. What both documents suggest is that something has shifted in the way Hadid talks, and thinks, about her private life.

“Right now my friends are saying to me: ‘Gigi, what’s going on? Looks like you’re 19 again.’ I just think I’m… serene,” she said.

The Boucheron attribution, if accurate, is doing specific work in the narrative. Whether the bands are engagement rings, wedding bands, or expressions of partnership is a question the available sources cannot resolve.
