Fatal snowmobile accident in the north of the Lanaudiere region

SAINT-MICHEL-DES-SAINTS | A French snowmobiler died Saturday in the Saint-Michel-des-Saints sector, in the Lanaudiere region.

The collision occurred in the evening around 7 p.m. on federated trail number 33, located between Repos Lake and Manawan, said the Sûrete du Quebec.

The victim is a 58-year-old French national. She was evacuated to a hospital center where her death was noted, said Sergeant Claude Denis of the SQ.

According to initial reports, the snowmobiler had lost control of his snowmobiler who had hit a tree head-on.

Snowmobile specialists were requested on-site, said Sergeant Denis.
